MEDICARE+ CARD TERMS & CONDITIONS (Age 18+)

1. Scheme Ownership & Changes

  • The MediCare+ Card scheme is operated by MediCare.
  • All MediCare+ Cards remain the property of MediCare.
  • The MediCare+ Card scheme is only valid in selected MediCare branches.
  • MediCare may cancel, withdraw, or alter the scheme, its offers, or these Terms & Conditions at any time.
  • MediCare may remove, suspend, or close a MediCare+ Card account, and/or remove points, if misuse or abuse of the scheme is suspected.

2. Eligibility

  • To participate in the MediCare+ Card scheme, you must be a United Kingdom resident aged 18 years or over.
  • MediCare will not communicate with customers until the lawful age of consent for marketing is reached.

3. Card Registration & Account Management

  • Physical plastic MediCare+ Cards should be registered with MediCare.
  • Points on unregistered cards will be removed after 12 months.
  • MediCare may merge duplicate customer accounts at its discretion.
  • No additional cards are issued for the same account.
  • An account will be considered inactive where no points have been earned or redeemed within a continuous 12-month period.
  • MediCare reserves the right to determine what constitutes sufficient activity to maintain an active account.
  • MediCare reserves the right to remove or expire points from any account that has been inactive for the stated period, whether or not the account remains open.
  • MediCare will make reasonable efforts to notify customers prior to expiry where contact details and marketing permissions are available but is not obliged to do so.

4. Personal Use Only

  • The MediCare+ Card is for personal use only.
  • Business use is strictly prohibited and constitutes misuse.
  • MediCare may determine, at purchase or retrospectively, whether a transaction constitutes business activity.

5. Earning Points

  • One point is awarded for every £1 spent on qualifying purchases in participating MediCare branches.
  • Points are normally added at the time of purchase.
  • Points cannot be added retrospectively if the card was not presented.
  • Points are not earned on:
    • private prescriptions
    • selected dispensary items
    • infant milks (up to six months)
    • gift cards
    • plastic bag levy
    • pharmacy services
  • MediCare may withdraw or change points promotions or offers without notice.

6. Redeeming Points

  • One point is worth one penny to spend on qualifying products in MediCare branches.
  • Points cannot be exchanged for cash and are non-transferable.
  • Points have no monetary value, are a promotional benefit only, and may be withdrawn or cancelled at any time in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
  • Points cannot be used to purchase:
    • prescriptions
    • selected medicines
    • pharmacy services
    • infant milks (up to six months)
    • gift cards
  • Valid ID may be required when redeeming points.
  • You cannot earn points when purchasing items using points.
  • MediCare may change the products and services eligible for point collection or redemption at any time.
  • Spending points may be subject to system or network availability.

7. Returns & Refunds

  • If you return a product purchased with cash or card, the associated points will be deducted from your MediCare+ account.
  • If a product purchased using points is faulty, points may be credited back to your account. No cash refunds will be provided for products purchased with points.

8. Privacy & Data Protection

  • MediCare is committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your personal data secure.
  • MediCare will not sell your personal information to third parties.
  • Marketing communications will only be sent where you have provided appropriate consent.
