Ask Your Pharmacist Week
It’s national Ask Your Pharmacist Week from 2nd-9th November 2020.
The theme of this year’s campaign is ‘Your local pharmacy in the NHS family’.
Pharmacies are part of the NHS family and provide a range of NHS services. They are one of the most visited of all settings where NHS care is offered.
Pharmacy teams work with other professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to give you the best possible care as part of the local healthcare team.
You can talk to your pharmacist about a wide range of health and healthcare issues, not just about medicines. Yet sometimes people have been going to a doctor or even a hospital for problems that could be sorted out more conveniently at their pharmacy. It’s estimated that up to 18 million GP appointments per year and 3.7 million A&E visits could instead be handled in a pharmacy.
Visit your local pharmacy to receive clinical advice and prompt treatment for common illnesses like eye infections, earaches and itchy skin. Pharmacists are experts in the use of medicines, managing minor illnesses and providing health and wellbeing advice.
So, for NHS services, convenient access to medicines, support for healthy living and prompt clinical advice, Ask Your Pharmacist!
